AMD Awareness Week
20-26 September 2008 Age-related Macular Degeneration or AMD is a deterioration in the health of the most sensitive central portion of the retina (macula) responsible for sharp straight-ahead vision. It is the most common cause of blindness in the people aged 55 years and older in developed countries.
